I’ve been following this cutie for quite some time on Tumblr and just wanted to have her apart of my photo series which is now called “Living It Up” and now it’ll be officially back up. I love her sense of style; fashion-wise and blog-wise and she’s one artistic girl all the way from Manchester, England! Here are the questions i asked her with a few photos, thanks to her. Hope you enjoy what you see and read :).

Name & explain a bit about yourself: Moira Parton. I’m an 18 year old Filipino born aspiring artist/photographer based in Manchester, England. I draw naked women, paint apples and take photographs of trees! (Seriously. Haha!)

What are your favorite hobbies or interest: I like taking photos, blogging/reading blogs, eating, watching sci/crime shows, producing art, dressing up and thrifting!

What or who inspires your creativity and style: Mostly fashion trends/photographs/artworks that I see online (i.e. on lookbook.nu, tumblr, deviantart, etc.) and also other people I find interesting/artistic like Stefany Alves, Tricia Gosingtian, Rockie Nolan and Alice Yu.

Whats your everyday carry: I go to college Monday-Friday so I carry quite a few stuff.

Who inspires you: Besides the people I’ve already mentioned, it’ll be my family, friends and those who keep pushing me to do what I do best (e.g. lovely followers on tumblr). Young artists like myself also inspire me a whole lot because they remind me that anything is achievable with hard work and creativity.

What are your favorite websites to go on: Lookbook, Tumblr, Blogspot, Deviantart, Flickr and Ebay.

Who has the best and worst style: No one has the best style because there are just way too many great people in fashion today and they are all very much incomparable. As for the worst, that just depends on personal preference but I think everyone at one point will have/has had the worst style since not everyone is going to like what you wear or how you look like.

What got you into photography: It was a bunch of young people who I happened to come across online back in ’07. They took really interesting photographs and I remember wanting to produce such compelling photos similar to theirs so from then on, I started to use whatever tool I had to capture imagery.

You tend to wear a lot of accessories what are your favorite ones: I don’t even know how many I’ve got and it’s really hard to pick favourites. I’d say probably the Paris locket clock necklace, Aubrey Hepburn ring and the cameo necklace just cause they’re really nice and I can wear them with a lot of outfits.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years: I’d probably be bouncing around somewhere here in Europe or struggling to get a job in New York or simply be back in the Philippines but nonetheless, in 5 years, I’d definitely still be producing art and taking photos.

What does “living it up” mean to you: Living it up’ to me is all about striving to achieve and going after whatever makes you happy.

What do you love about England and why: Winter trees. Simply because I will never get over how beautiful they really are – the mystery, that naked frame, its intricacy and delicate detail would always fascinate me. Multi-cultural lifestyle. It’s just so much variety in all terms – food, fashion, music, language and ideas. Experiencing it is just a lot of fun plus it gives you a sense of versatility. Also, less prejudice.

What trends would you like to see go away: The cardigan-long top-ugg boots trend. I mean, it’s not that bad but when someone wears it every single day, you kind of wish they’d play it up a bit more.

Also anything else you want to add in: I like math. (lol. so random.)

What or who inspires your style || Hiroki Nakamura (Creator of Visvim) he gives out handmade shoes and high quality clothes for the upscale people!

What trend(s) would you like to fade away || I would like to see the hypebeasts living in the era of hb circa ’06 to leave, i’ve seen enough Nike SB’s and The Hundreds.

Favorite store(s) to shop at || I love to shop at Union and Bape, but im growing more near to Comme Des Garcons and Neighborhood, upscale hype!

Who inspires you || The person who most inspires me is my brother Richard, for if it weren’t for him i wouldn’t be in street-wear right now.

What are you looking forward to in 2011 || I’m looking forward to taking more photos in 2011, mainly the 365 project!

What or who inspires your style || Pharrell is definitely a large influence. Him and Big Sean. Their style and choice of brands are my favorites.


What trend(s) would you like to fade away || I would like baggy clothing to fade, quickly. Haha. I used to wear the 2x Tee shirts. I always knew they looked stupid, and some people still wear them. That or Polo boots.

What are your influence’s || My father influences me. Greatest man I’ll ever know.

Who has the best/worst style || BEST: I think that Kanye West has the best style. Watch his older videos, the stuff we wear now, he was wearing in 2004. Denim jacket and A&F hoody in “Through The Wire” for example.

WORST: I like Wale’s style sometimes. He does too much though. Too many brands being thrown out with huge logos. His style is the worst a lot of the time.

What’s the difference of the style in London and else where around the world || Peoples in London wear high-end fashion (Rick Owens/Dior Homme) which is totally different with USA style (Street Wear:BAPE/BBC)

Who has the best/worst style || Sam Lee (Best)/Edison Chen (Worst)

What are you looking forward to in 2011 || Remake some more jeans and design some more jeans for my brand.

What or who inspires your style || It really depends on what kind of style I want to wear. I guess I get my inspiration from different things; it can be from art, music, movie.

What’s the difference of the style in Tokyo and else where around the world || People in japan accept all of fashion ideas for their styles. just anything goes. They wear whatever they want.

Who has the best/worst style || Osumi Takashi. No one is worse.

What are you looking forward to in 2011 || Get more shoes.

I’m starting a new photo series (No name yet) featuring friends of mine, people who I meet randomly at event’s and else where out in the streets. Every week or so ill feature a few people, ill ask them a few questions about themselves and also on fashion. I just wanted to start something new for my blog and I hope people will like it. What or who inspires your style and why || I’m inspired a lot by Lady Gaga and Kayne west, they’re always so innovative and wearing whatever they want. I admire their lack of care to those who judge them for what they wear.

What are your favorite brands || I don’t really care about brands anymore but I’ve always been a big fan of OBEY, Nooka, and Urban Outfitters.

Favorite store to shop at and why || I really like shopping at thrift stores (mainly because it’s really cheap, and I’m broke as shit) but what’s great about thrift stores is that you’re not paying extra for the brand name. But if I get a fat paycheck, I might stroll on over to Urban Outfitters, Ubiq or H&M.

What trend(s) would you like to see fade away and why || I am SO tired of those damn Ugg boots, and I’m sure everyone agrees too but I also dislike the low top chucks that girls wear also. In my opinion they both just look ridiculous.

What are you looking forward to in 2011 || In 2011, I’m hoping more people will discover their own style and fewer people just wearing “what’s in”. I’m hoping to see more uniqueness and maybe bringing back corduroy?
